Kristen is a role model, constantly caring for her staff, assisting them, teaching them, and anything making life easier for the staff during their daily duties.
Kristen has been with our ED family for the past 5 years. She was promoted to the ANM position in 2019. Nursing is Kristen's second career as she was a paramedic for a number of years prior to becoming a nurse. I do not have one incident, but I do have so many times when Kristen saved someone's life that was coding due to her experience and ability to take charge and handle any situation. For those of you who may not know Kristen she responds to the Rapid Responses with the Lucas backpack ready to assist with automatic chest compressions. Or to jump in when Lucas not an option.
Kristen has a big heart when it comes to each and every one of the patients she is taking care of and their families. I have seen her on numerous occasions hold someone’s hand as they are taking there last breath and then going out and hugging family members as they are told their loved one has passed away.
Kristen is a role model, constantly caring for her staff, assisting them, teaching them and anything making life easier for the staff during their daily duties. Kristen always goes out of her way to teach, assist, coach, anytime when needed, keeping her focus on our goals, meeting our deadlines and making sure safety is first for our patients and staff. She makes sure that there is a balance with the daily assignments utilizing everyone strengths and weaknesses.
Kristen puts safety and quality as priority, always doing the right thing making the best decision, keeping all informed with changes, implementation, adapting easily to changes and providing solutions to all encounters. Kristen is a true DAISY and we are so glad to honor her.
