Kristen' s genuine concern for my son' s well-being was evident in every action she took, from managing his comfort to ensuring he felt safe and supported.
When my son was diagnosed with a brain tumor, we were life- flighted to CHKD within two hours. I was faced with one of the most terrifying and helpless moments of my life. As a parent, nothing compares to the fear and uncertainty of watching your child face a life- threatening condition. During this time of overwhelming emotion, Kristen became not only a healthcare provider but also a source of comfort and support for our family. She exemplified the very essence of CHKD' s mission statement—Health, Healing, and Hope for All Children. Kristen demonstrated exceptional care, always attending to every detail of my son' s treatment while showing immense compassion. She made sure to explain each step of his care in a way that was understandable and reassuring, giving us peace of mind even in the midst of chaos. Her ability to remain calm, focused, and genuinely compassionate helped us find hope when we were at our most vulnerable.
