My husband had a fall, fractured his hip, and was in the hospital having surgery. We learned that his younger brother was also in this same hospital, gravely ill. Kristy took the initiative to facilitate a visit to his brother. She cleared it with the on call PA for him to leave the unit, and arranged the visit with the ICU staff. We were beyond grateful, as was my brother-in-law’s family. My husband had the opportunity to see his brother for one last time. He died the next day. Kristy’s nursing care was good. She went above and beyond with this act of kindness. I am a retired registered nurse. Kristy’s care was an example of the heart of nursing.
