Kristen is a newer nurse to the Hospice, coming to us from the Emergency Department. She has transitioned from caring for emergency patients to those at the end-of-life supremely well. Kristen works dayshift on the inpatient unit at the Morrison House. I don't know that there is one single event that makes her extraordinary, yet it is her day-in and day-out performance that places her above the bar. For her young age, Kristen displays both sincere empathy and genuine engagement with our patients. She has garnered the respect of the physicians who make rounds at the Morrison House daily. Kristen is precise in her documentation and thorough in her assessments. Each morning she works, her first task is to see each patient and get a sense first-hand of how they are doing. She establishes a very important and personal relationship with the individuals she cares for. She has a maturity beyond her years which brings calmness and efficiency to the inpatient unit. Kristen is a pleasure to work with and a tremendous asset to Hospice.
