Kristen has made my son feel safe and comforted while at UMC. She is like a ray of sunshine. She puts her patients before herself and has a true balance in making something that doesn't seem fun, like a dressing change, okay. Kristen has advocated for our son in our absence many times and for that, we are deeply grateful. We know when our son is in Kristen's care he is under great care. During a dressing change of his entire body, he was having extreme anxiety and wanted Kristen to hold his hand. Instead of telling him to wait because she was administering pain meds she figured out how to hold his hand and give the meds at the same time. She held his hand the entire time without hesitation or thought to work still needing to be done. That simple action brought more comfort to our son than any medication could of and we are grateful for her and her actions. She comforts her patients when needed and motivates them when needed also. Kristen is definitely a nurse who brings sunshine to a rainy day.
