My husband was admitted and is in the care of Kristi King. From the moment we met her, we felt comfortable and much more relaxed. Her loving, genuine, "motherly" personality is calming.
We never feel rushed when explaining things nor do we ever feel like we are bothering her if we call her. We can see she loves her job and her patients. She really listens when she talks to us and she has a wonderful habit of a gentle touch. Whether it is a shoulder, arm or foot, it's just enough to feel comfort and genuine care. She would even touch me in a caring manner which helped to keep me calm so I can focus on taking care of my husband.
Not all nurses realize how difficult it is for the spouse when their husband or wife is ill. It's been a long month of recovery for our whole family and it's wonderful to know I'm cared about too.
Prior to this admission, we have never been to Mercy Gilbert. Due to nurses like Kristi, we will come back.
