She listens to us, takes what we are saying, puts herself in our shoes and comes up with a game plan that always works.
Kristi Neiswender is what I would describe as a “total package”. She is very compassionate as well as a strong leader for everyone. She has the unique ability to make a difficult task appear easy. She is very open-minded and approachable when one needs to express concerns. She is not just an advocate for patients but everyone around her as well. She is always an excellent preceptor and educator. As I said, she is a total package. Kristi exhibits everything you envision when thinking what a nurse should be. Kristi is “old school” in her work ethics. She always shows compassion to her patients and family members. There is no possible way to clearly put into words how much Kristi means to my family. She made unbearable situations bearable. She will forever be part of our son’s journey. Kristi has the heart of an angel and is truly the best what the nursing should be. If you are down, she always tries to cheer you up and gives the most loving hugs. She always has grace and composure and never misses a single point of medical or emotional care. Our little guy has a rare disease called lissencephaly “smooth brain”. Children with this disorder have a very rough road ahead of them. He is 9-month-old but functions only on a 4-month level. He is very, very agitated all the time because he can’t control his little body and the medication he is on for seizures makes it worse. If he is not sleeping, he is screaming. It gets very overwhelming. Kristi has been beyond amazing with him. Our little guy adores her. She has so much love and understanding for him. She takes time to sing to him until he is calmed down. She always makes sure we are comfortable. She listens to us, takes what we are saying, puts herself in our shoes and comes up with a game plan that always works. Kristi, thank you for being amazing, you have made this journey a lot easier.
