Kristi cared for a patient from the Caribbean, who spoke very little English and was challenged to breastfeed her baby. Kristi went to great lengths to meet this patient's cultural needs. She even obtained cabbage leaves, which the patient felt would help with the breast feeding, which is normal in the patient's culture. This is an outstanding example of how Kristi meets patients' physical, social and emotional needs in her nursing practice. She uses unconditional, positive regard to every patient she cares for regardless of their circumstances and because of this she is able to intervene with patients in a multitude of ways.
