Kristi went as far as a massage and doing her hair for her. This is not part of the job. This is beyond.
There is one nurse that stood out to our whole family. We only had the privilege of having her one day, but she is truly an angel on earth. Kristi was with us as a day nurse. The amount of attention she gave her patient will never be forgotten. Kristi talked to her as if she was awake. Kristi spoke with our family with so much compassion and love. She was beyond educated on everything she was able to share with us in a way we could understand. Kristi went as far as a massage and doing her hair for her. This is not part of the job. This is beyond. Our family will never ever forget this. It is so easy to treat a patient as a patient or whatever their status may be. Mom was never treated like she was in a vegetative state by Kristi or any of the nurses. She was treated like a person, like our mother. To have Kristi at GSAM is beyond fortunate for the hospital. Every staff member benefits from having a nurse like her around them. She is a wonderful example of how a nurse should be. We appreciate her so much.
