Kristian Watkins, RN

Kristian cared for my daughter for multiple days when she was in the NICU at NWC. Kristian went above and beyond with her care, taking time to talk to me, and easing my anxiety and stress during what will be some of the most stressful times in my life. My daughter required a blood transfusion, and Kristian helped me advocate for additional testing to ensure the blood was correct for my daughter (it had to be antigen negative blood). The transfusion lasted overnight, and she encouraged me to go home and get some sleep, which was much needed!

She spent a lot of time talking and building a rapport with me and advocated for us to move to a private room when one became available. Not only was she caring and invested in my daughter’s health, but she was also incredibly skillful as a nurse.

I will never forget the exceptional care provided by Kristian, and I believe she is more than deserving of the DAISY Award!!
