April 2013 Honoree
kristie glemba, LPN
Kristie is very calm, patient and kind to all of her patients. She tries to educate not only the patients but other staff as well. One morning Kristie started morning rounds on her patients and noticed during her assessment the patient had a swollen arm. She never had this patient before but knew something was not right. She got the doctors involved and someone to come and examine the patient. The MDs decided to do a fasciotomy on her right away. This nurse recognized that the patient was on Coumadin and brought this fact to their attention. The patient was given FFP. During this time the patient was upset and crying but Kristie stayed calm and was able to comfort the patient. She was an angel helping her through a difficult situation.
I am so proud of the work beside her because in all difficult types of situations she stays cool and calm. Every time there is a code on the floor she is right there to lend a helping hand. She is a wonderful nurse who has worked here for 15 years that is terrific.

Thank you, Kristie, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
