Kristie works as an ICU nurse where she serves as charge nurse and preceptor. She has 2 children that she homeschools during COVID, while working full-time, and taking classes toward earning her BSN. She has a desire to learn and teach others that is evident in her demeanor; her coworkers say she is a great leader, and her compassion shows in her daily care of patients, colleagues, friends, and family. She humbly leads by example, coming to work every day, not knowing what they will face, but ready with a positive attitude. A few weeks ago, she volunteered in the local COVID vaccine clinic. Helping to get the vaccine out to the community is a life-saving effort. When nurses are asked to step up in times of need, as during the COVID pandemic with screening and vaccine efforts, she answered the call.
