Kristin would even come in on her nights off to hold him and spend extra time with him. She cared and loved him as if he was her own child.
We had a patient delivered by emergent c-section in adult ICU due to his mother being admitted for COVID. The baby’s mother died shortly after delivery. Kristin signed on to be the primary nurse for what would end up being an 88-day long length of stay. She would even come in on her nights off to hold him and spend extra time with him. She cared and loved him as if he was her own child. Through his highs and lows, Kristin was there every step of the way. Kristin also kept a journal for the baby’s relatives about his NICU stay and journey.
