Kristin has helped make the infusion process less scary, and more tolerable for our daughter.
Kristin has given us unwavering support since we first received our daughter’s Crohn’s diagnosis in 2017. She has been by our daughter’s side for almost all of her infusions, which she has received every 6 weeks throughout the last 7 years. She was there for us on the first infusion day and carefully walked us through what would be our future “norm”. She made sure that we had all the information possible.
Kristin has helped make the infusion process less scary, and more tolerable for our daughter. Kristin has always made sure that she was aware of what was happening to her, even as a 4-year-old child. The first few years of the infusions did not go well for our feisty little patient. Our daughter would battle all of us when getting her IV started, but Kristin was always the voice of reason and had so much patience and compassion for our tiny fighter.
When Mom and Dad were losing their minds, Kristin was the strong one for all of us! She has done everything in her power to make our daughter more comfortable and to give her a voice as the patient. Kristin advocates on behalf of our daughter to the other clinic employees too.
On the few days that she was not working on our infusion days, Kristin made sure that whoever was there with our daughter knew everything about her needs and preferences. Kristin is the first one to celebrate with us on the good days, and the first one to support us on the hard days. There have been many days where Kristin had to pick me up as I was crumbling to pieces. She not only supports our daughter…she supports the whole family. Kristin is one of the number one reasons we chose to continue at this clinic vs. moving to another clinic. We can’t imagine not having her with us on this Crohn’s disease journey, and in life.
Kristin and my daughter have such a great bond and I envision many more years to come with Kristin by our side. When I think of who a nurse is, Kristin embodies every quality of an amazing nurse! Mott Hospital and the patients at the Non-Cancer Infusion clinic are so lucky to have her, and we are so incredibly thankful for her!
