I am writing to formally extend accolades and to recognize and express my deep gratitude for the extraordinary efforts of Kristin, whose resourcefulness, affability, kindness, and tenacity have  made an immeasurable contribution during one of the most challenging moments our family has faced.

Our beloved nanny, truly the heart of our family, was hospitalized for six weeks in total, including more than two weeks in the ICU following brain surgery after a stroke. Our nanny has lived with my husband and me for 15 years as our three children’s nanny, and has been part of our family for more than 30 years. She moved with us from Boston to Charlottesville and has remained a constant, loving presence in our lives. To see her endure such a medical crisis was profoundly difficult.

Throughout this experience, we were deeply grateful for the exceptional care provided by the nurses, whose patience and compassion were remarkable, and for the expertise and dedication of the physicians who guided our nanny through critical stages of her recovery. Thanks to their collective efforts, our nanny has made a remarkable recovery.

However, as our nanny approached discharge, we encountered an incredibly complex and distressing challenge. Despite Kristin’s tireless advocacy, our nanny’s scheduled inpatient rehabilitation, so crucial to her continued recovery, was revoked just four days prior to her planned discharge due to her uninsured status. At that point, I became the sole available caregiver, facing what felt like an overwhelming responsibility without the benefit of professional support.

It was during this pivotal and daunting time that Kristin's exceptional qualities shone brightest. She navigated the administrative and logistical complexities with unwavering determination and clarity. Her advocacy on our nanny’s behalf was both persistent and compassionate, and her ability to guide us through unfamiliar processes with wisdom and professionalism was invaluable. Not only did she provide practical solutions but also offered reassurance and encouragement when it was needed most.

Her role extended far beyond administrative support—she served as a true ambassador of care and community. demonstrated a rare combination of expertise and empathy, ensuring that I felt supported, informed, and respected throughout the process. Her thoughtful counsel and steadfast presence helped us move forward with confidence during an otherwise overwhelming situation.

Our nanny, who was just three months away from returning to her home in Trinidad before this stroke occurred, continues to recover with resilience and strength. We remain hopeful for her continued progress, and we are profoundly aware that Kristin's contributions played a significant role in making that possible.

Please accept this letter as a testament to Kristin's exceptional dedication and as an expression of our family’s heartfelt appreciation. She is an invaluable member of your team and a true example of compassionate, patient-centered care.
