Kristin Hasler, ADN, BSN, RN

A patient unexpectedly coded in the ER – traumatic arrest. She was talking with her friend just prior to coding. Kristin sat with the patient’s best friend (also her MPOA) while we coded, did a thoracotomy, etc., and was with her and supported her throughout. What was admirable, aside from her consistent grace and usual kindness, was how she updated the friend on every single doctor and nurse that entered the room and his/her/their roles. She was fully aware that the friend was the point of contact for the whole community and left no stone unturned! By doing this, the friend was able to tell their extended group exactly what happened! And, as always, she held her hand and did it with such compassion. Kristin is a wonderful nurse and human being. I was so thankful she was on my team!
