Kristin Kennaugh, RN has been a nurse on 3E SICU for 14 years. She was one of the first employees who came and greeted me on my first day on the unit over 9 years ago. Kristin is a go-to person for her colleagues. She is a great resource, charge nurse, and preceptor. Kristin provides consistent, thoughtful care to her patients. She has always been a patient advocate and works with the physician staff to carry out the plan of care. Even though Kristin has worked the night shift for all of these years, she is always asking questions, clarifying orders, conferring with physicians, and communicating with patients and family members. On the night shift, we admit many patients. Sometimes, Kristin is the first face that family members see after a really long day of waiting for their loved ones. She is a team player and her goal is to settle her patient as quickly as she can, with help from coworkers. This gives Kristin the opportunity to have the family come in to see their loved one and she can explain the plan of care for them. Her approach to patients and family members, in this way, promotes a feeling of trust and confidence in her and her ability to provide the best care for their loved one.
We are very proud of Kristin and congratulate her on this award.
