Kristin Larson, RN

Compassion, commitment, competence; that is Kristin Larson. We had a very young child that was under the influence of drugs. The parents were not at the emergency department, but that didn’t stop Kristin from jumping in and comforting the child. She sat and held the child off and on for several hours to soothe the child. She played shows and gave the child snacks, listened, wrapped her in a warm blanket, and rocked her to sleep. She did everything she could to make the situation less traumatic for the child. When the mom showed up, Kristin treated her with respect even though the situation was complicated. Kristin consistently role models the nurse you would want taking care of you. Kind, efficient, calm, and intelligent. She is a charge nurse, but she leads even when she isn’t assigned the role. She comes to work to help all those in need no matter the situation because that is just what nurses do.
