Kristin Loughery, BSN, RN

I was really sick and in UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. I had a blood clot. Over the week I was there, I endured 3 surgeries. Kristen was so kind. I felt so gross from not being able to move to shower, and I was so scared of what would happen. My hair was a mess, and I was all sweaty and smelled awful. She came in and helped give me a bath in my bed. It made me feel so good and was the first thing that made me smile. She then helped untangle my hair which was matted and in a huge mess. After that, she French braided it for me so it would stay out of the way for my surgery the next morning. I was feeling so good, the first time I had in those days. She helped me wash off my face and brush my teeth, and was even going to paint my nails, and went across the whole hospital to get me slushees. She went way out of her way to make me comfortable and at rest. I think she deserves to be recognized for how good of a nurse she is. She made my week of terror into something better.
