I remember when I was outpatient and I had to get chemo and I would have been there for many hours. Luckily, I had a Kristin who is not only a great nurse but also fun. While on chemo, I had to take a steroid that made me a little crazy. I would often be snappy and rude towards everyone, but this Kristin didn't mind because she knew it was the steroid that was making me crazy. She let me braid her hair, which helped me feel better about not having any. She gave me advice and helped me feel better about myself- hair, appearance, missing friends and school at the time. Sometimes we played card games.
Kristin makes any situation that involves my port better for me as I know she is good at accessing (which I have terrible anxiety about) so my stress level drops knowing that Kristin will be there to provide this care. She is sweet, funny, silly and beautiful inside and out.
