May 2026 Honoree
Kristin Owen, BSN, RN
Kristin was nominated by her patient and the patient’s sister.
Her patient wrote, “Kristin is a true God-send. An angel on earth. I was scared, anxious, and beyond nervous of what the next few hours held for me. She was attentive, always knew when I needed her without having to call. I will always remember her gentleness. She was a true advocate during my time of vulnerability.
I remember her calling the doctor because I was still in severe pain despite my epidural. Her stories and relatability were calming in a time that seemed unbearable. She didn’t minimize anything that I told her, and she was never dismissive of my symptoms. She made sure that I was safe.
Despite being told that I would be there for hours, she recognized that I wouldn’t be, and she stayed with me and made sure that the doctor came right away. I would truly recommend Kristin to everybody. She was the perfect nurse for my first time having a baby. If I could shout her praises from the rooftop and send every new mom her way, I would!!
The patient’s sister wrote, “Kristin is the epitome of what it means to be a nurse. As a fellow nurse myself, she is the person that I would want on my team and the person that I would trust to care for not only myself but my family members as well.
I will never forget Kristen’s kindness and selflessness. When I talk about my sister’s labor and delivery, I cannot do so without mentioning Kristin. The L&D unit is truly beyond blessed, beyond measure, to have her.
Kristin, from the bottom of my heart… thank you!”
