...I am beholden especially to one registered nurse staff member, Kristin, who worked the evening shift. Because of her patient and conscientious care and the thorough use of all of the nursing measures to relieve pain, I could sleep that night and be able to be discharged the next day. Kristin knew what to do for someone who is in their mid-seventies, as well as for the patient who is very distended and in total, intense pain, which I was. Her care was excellent and made me more comfortable, as well as motivated me to try the prescribed physical activity.

Please convey to the nursing staff my gratitude. Please commend highly Kristin, RN for implementing all the individualized nursing care measures that I previously, as a nursing educator, taught to students enrolled in a professional nursing program. To be the recipient of such committed, excellent, individualized care was gratifying. I realize also that the nurse who "goes the extra mile" as Kristin did, can sometimes slow her in getting all the assignments completed "on time", which can result in criticism rather than commendation. However, real nursing care reflects the level of quality care that Kristin gave, and that I believe is part of the Mission of St. Luke's Hospital.
