Kristin Thompson is a nurse at the Schwarz Cancer Center who works in infusion and in our clinic. Recently, several of our doctors have been asking about being able to administer Humate-P, which Schwarz did not do, and they weren't sure why. They have run into several issues with finding a place that would give Humate-P, and it was causing lots of anxiety for patients not being able to get this treatment. Kristin Thompson decided to take matters into her own hands to find out if Schwarz would be able to even give this medication. She reached out to several different people to put together a fully packaged idea/plan around being able to give Humate-P. Once she had talked to all players, she wrote an email and presented it to the leadership team at Schwarz.

Kristin went way above and beyond for our patients at Schwarz. She advocated for all patients who needed Humate-P. She truly went the extra mile to ensure that our patients were able to be cared for to the fullest. She truly embodies the IU Health values.
