...From the first night on Step-Down until I left to go up to the Oncology floor Kristin went above and beyond her regular duties. My family and I were told the worst, never ill, I now have stage 4 lung cancer and a mass the size of a fist on my carotid artery that in just a few weeks to 2 months will cut my life short. She knew this of course from my chart, my medications, and pain control. I knew she didn't have the time but she checked on me even when I wasn't her patient.

Kristin is what a nurse should be; professional, knowledgeable, caring and compassionate. This was extremely hard on my wife. One day in particular was a real bad day, more bad news and my wife was beside herself. Kristen heard my wife sobbing and came to help. I was not in any shape to console her. When you are ill it effects more than the patient but the family also. Even though she knew I could go at any time, Kristen wanted me to know I was still a person and still here. One of the things that made it worse was that we are from Arkansas so we had no other family members here for us. I so appreciated her being concerned about how both of us were doing.

Kristin did everything she could to get us going forward. She did not treat me as if I were already gone. Please let her know how thankful and so appreciative of her every kindness and concern we are.
