Kristin took the time to get to know my Mom a little when she was in the room. Each time lessening my Mom's anxiety, which in turn eased my anxiety.
My Mom had emergency surgery to remove a blockage of her abdominal aorta. Before this, she had NEVER had any health issues, this was a surprise. My Mom was scared and overwhelmed. In walks Kristin. She was amazing, sensing that my Mom was nervous and scared, she set about easing her nerves. I was there all day and witnessed Kristin go above and beyond to be there for my Mom. Every time she came in to do something, she would explain what she was doing thoroughly, toss in a few jokes, and a smile (with her eyes as she was wearing a mask). She took the time to get to know my Mom a little when she was in the room. Each time lessening my Mom's anxiety, which in turn eased my anxiety. I know that they had a full and busy floor and she could have just breezed in and out, but she didn't. We understand that being a nurse is hard, to begin with, but with the pandemic on top of normal hospital patients, it's probably even harder. That's why we wanted to take the time to let you know how wonderful Kristin was to my Mom and me. She made such a scary time a little easier and bearable. She really was a bright light in a dreary time.
