Kristina Cothran, RN

Kristina Cothran, RN, of the 4th Floor, was recently nominated for the DAISY Award in recognition of her extraordinary compassion and dedication to patient care.

While caring for a comfort care patient, Kristina went above and beyond to create meaningful moments of connection and comfort. After learning that the patient loved Christmas, she partnered with fellow team members to bring a small light-up Christmas tree into the room. The simple gesture brought joy to the patient, who was later seen holding the tree and smiling for hours.

Kristina continued to make a difference through thoughtful acts of kindness, spending time with the patient, engaging in conversation, and creating a warm, comforting environment during a difficult time. Her commitment to meeting the patient where they were, building a personal connection, and bringing comfort and dignity exemplifies the highest ideals of nursing.
