A little over 2 years ago I came into the pediatrics ward as a patient to the 5th floor. There were so many nurses that were great and so nice, but there was one nurse who made me feel like everything was going to be okay. There was a way about her that was warm and comforting. Nurse Kristina made my stay very comfortable with the care she gave. When we left home my mom and I thought why can’t people everywhere be like her.
Well I'm back in the hospital and as luck would have it I'm on the same floor and I got the same nurse. In the morning after my surgery, Kristina came in with the same positive attitude. For the next 3 days, she cared for me and other patients. The thing about Kristina is you know she's running around taking care of other patients, but yet, when she's with you, she takes the time to talk to you, listen to you, and doesn't rush through a conversation. She makes you feel like you're the only patient she's caring for.
She has a gift and that gift is the gift of comfort, love, compassion, and hope. If there were people like her everywhere I really believe the world would be a much better place. Kristina, my mom and I thank you for caring for me and just being you. I'll miss you...God Bless.
