I was hospitalized for six days. The first five days, my dad was in respite care at the Hospice Inpatient Center. As his caregiver, I got a call that his condition had changed, and he was not waking. The thought that he was dying and I wouldn’t get to say goodbye haunted me. The doctor was hesitant, but Kristi argued my case and convinced them to release me for one hour to go see my dad. Another nurse escorted me over to the Inpatient Hospice Facility for an hour to visit. Thanks to Kristi, I got an hour with my dad to say goodbye. I am forever grateful to Kristina M.
