Kristina is an excellent example for our new nurses coming on board with how teamwork should be.
This is my first baby and Kristina made having a newborn such an amazing experience, and breastfeeding was so easy because of all the tips and tricks she taught me. She made my labor & delivery such a beautiful experience. We loved her and having little conversations with her!!

Nurse Manager: I would like to add that she is most deserving of this award. I have had the privilege of working with her for the past 9 months and in the beginning of my time here, I thought she was part of the float pool as she often worked on different units other than MBU. I came to find out that this was because she was always willing to go. When others complained or said it was not their turn to float, Kristina always stepped in and volunteered. She also has a specialized certification for Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) which is not required of her job as it is very time-consuming and difficult to obtain. We do not have Lactation Consultants on the night shift, but she takes every opportunity to teach, demonstrate, and assist the other nurses with breastfeeding needs. Kristina does all this on top of her own assignments and gives excellent care as this patient mentioned here. Just last night, the L&D unit got caught in a staffing bind mid-shift and she volunteered to go down and help them out, even taking her orientee so she could continue to teach her. Kristina is an excellent example for our new nurses coming on board with how teamwork should be. As I mentioned before, she is truly deserving of this award!
