Kristina is one of the most amazing nurses I've ever met. She not only utilizes evidence-based practice, but she is also exemplary in the way she teaches others training with her. During my son's difficult recovery from major spine surgery, Kristina educated J on his own care (he's 16) and made him feel heard even in the most difficult of circumstances. She is the picture of advocacy for her patients and consistently goes above and beyond in her care.

J had a very painful procedure and required follow-up care that was scary and traumatizing. She kept him calm, listened to him, shared her knowledge, collaborated with him and me on his plan of care, and led him on the path of recovery. After the painful procedure, J needed emergent x-rays and was still very shaken and upset. Recognizing his emotional state, Kristina compassionately canceled the scheduled transport and wheeled him down herself, spending time helping him process everything and ask questions. She is a model care provider and clearly a nurse who connects with her patients on a soul-rebuilding level. APH is lucky to have one of the best nurses serving patients and helping them towards healing physically, and emotionally. Thank you, Kristina!
