She thoughtfully communicated with us, teaching us how to feed our babies to bathing, even holding them, when their being so little just looked too scary.
My twins were born prematurely and our 19-day-stay in the NICU meant we met a LOT of Providence healthcare workers. While everyone was nice, my husband, I, and my family all met an outstanding, smart, and nurturing nurse named Kristina! We looked forward to seeing her every shift and wished we could have kept her to ourselves every day.

Kristina was attentive to our concerns and made us feel cared for through every decision as new parents. She motivated me as a new mom through breastfeeding, but also advocated for me when I felt I just needed a break. She thoughtfully communicated with us, teaching us how to feed our babies to bathing, even holding them, when their being so little just looked too scary.

She included us in rounds, and we would not have had the most outstanding experience we did without Kristina being a part of our story. Kristina deserves this award for her excellent patient care, hospitality, and overall charismatic personality. The Providence NICU is very grateful to have her along with every baby and family she cared for. Thank you!
