Kristy Barlett, RN of the Sublette County Hospital District was recently honored with The DAISY Award® For Extraordinary Nurses. The award is part of the DAISY Foundation's programs to recognize the super-human efforts nurses perform every day. This year’s winner is Kristy Bartlett, RN of the Sublette County Hospital District. Her patients write: “Kristy is always available to her community on and off the clock. She’s kind, understanding and helpful. Always going the extra mile to ensure trust in the local hospital and its many new providers. She’s the kind of nurse that keeps patients coming back. She’s helped with so many scary moments and always seems to be on call when we walk in. Her smile alone reminds me to pause, breathe and remember we are in good hands.” Kristy is a Wyoming native, who has been a nurse since 2009. She graduated nursing school from Laramie County Community College and received her BSN from Chamberlain University in 2023. She was a key player in launching the EPIC Electronic Medical Records system in both clinics. She currently serves as Director of Quality which is a new department for the Hospital District. Her coworkers note, “She exceeds expectations with the building of the Quality Department, which is instrumental in establishing standards for great patient care.” When not at work, you can find her in the mountains snow machining or camping with her family. To celebrate the DAISY award and Nurses’ Week, Nurses from the Hospital District, the Sublette Center, SCSD #1, SCSD #9 and Public Health were invited to enjoy a relaxing meal at Lakeside and celebrate their profession. Nurses are the backbones of their healthcare organizations, and while we are thankful for their service year-round, it’s important to stop and take a moment to appreciate everything they do.
