Kristy has made a big impact on her staff’s ability to give great, compassionate care at the bedside. The nurse who nominated her started by saying, “Kristy is a shining example of nursing leadership. She makes an effort to make us feel heard and goes out of her way to help in any way she can.” This nurse shared a memory from when she was a new graduate. “Kristy pulled me into her office and let me sit with her anxiety light. I don’t know if it was the light or her, but I felt instantly better.”

 Later in her nomination, she said, “Kristy makes an effort to help other staff members by hanging fluids, getting patients settled, repositioning patients, ambulating patients, and, her favorite, giving baths. While most people would think giving baths is basic work, Kristy makes it her mission to make those patients feel loved and their absolute best.”

Final thoughts included, “Kristy exemplifies Franciscan and their values every day she is here on 3West. I am so blessed to have her as my leader and manager. I can’t imagine where I would be without her constant encouragement and compassion.”
