Kristy regularly and consistently goes above and beyond on 2 West. As a new nurse to the unit, she is an excellent resource. She is always willing to help or guide you. She even wrote up a typed "welcome packet for 2 West with all the key contact information and information that is commonly forgotten to be passed along. In addition, Kristy is amazing with her patients. She brings in her own soaps and lotions for bathing our bed bound patients with. Recently, she painted nails for patients on the unit for their birthday and gave them a "mani-pedi". This brings joy and comfort to our patients that have long length of stay in the hospital. Lastly, Kristy is positive, optimistic and always has a smiling face. She is a pleasure to work with.

Kristy came into work and was given the same set of patients she had the day before. They were three female patients trached to the vent and alert and orientated. These patients had walked into the hospital and had a turn for the worse and have been debilitated and bed bound for months. These patients had started to become depressed and losing their positivity. Kristy brought nail polish from home and gave all of her patient's manicures and pedicures. She allowed them to pick their own color and feel beautiful. I was fortunate enough to have one of the patients that following night and she kept showing off her nails to everyone. It had turned the patient's whole day around. Kristy always goes above and beyond and helps her co-workers and would do anything for her patients. Kristy truly deserves this recognition.
