For beginners, I would like to state that I am an individual who has had health issues for the greater part of my life. Since birth and through much of my adolescence, it was routine for me to be hospitalized at least once a year or more. With that being said, I have had extensive contact with numerous healthcare professionals.

Ms. Kristy stood out immediately upon meeting her. Her spirit poured out empathy, compassion, and sincerity. She was compassionate and genuinely caring. She listened and acted with intent.

She asked questions about my health and previous experiences that were not necessary to perform her job duties, but ultimately gave her additional insight and understanding of my particular case. She could sense my uncertainties about certain topics without me elaborating and was able to provide insightful advice, which was both comforting and helpful.

Regarding my concerns, she happened to be knowledgeable about all of my healthcare providers and assured me that I was in the best of hands and care. Though she had a large caseload that particular day, she impressed me most by her ability to keep track of my medication scheduling without me having to remind her or call out.

She was attentive to my discomfort and spoke on my behalf, relaying my issues to my doctors, helping me achieve relief and alleviate much of my discomfort.

In addition, she shared her own personal experiences regarding health and family memories, which made her much more relatable. She took the time to answer and explain some of the technical terminology that I read in “MyChart,” instead of referring me back to my doctor.

In closing, she made me feel as though she genuinely cared and that she was giving me the same care she would give to her own family. She is someone who truly enjoys her job. In fact, it does not even seem like work.

I shared with her that her energy and compassion suggest that she would easily volunteer, meaning that she is not just in it for the money or the title. She is an absolute winner.
