On New Year's Eve, Labor & Delivery had a previous patient re-admit. This patient felt overwhelmed and as if she were a burden since it's a holiday. Furthermore, she was here on Christmas Eve and thinks she's a double whammy of a problem now. Knowing she is not a problem; Kristy showed all kinds of compassion to this patient. This patient said, "I have had horrible experiences with scary deliveries, all I wanted was a new year and champagne." Kristy went to Kroger, bought sparkling grape juice, and a flute for this patient. Seeing the excitement of a simple gesture is amazing. This patient was more than thankful and now counting down with joy the minutes until midnight.
