My Dad came to the hospital to be evaluated at the advice of his cardiologist. Not knowing he would be admitted, he did not bring any personal items, including his cellphone. He was tested for COVID and found to be positive. My Mom could not stay with him and because of his underlying health issues and he was admitted. That evening, upon finding out about his situation, Kristy Loftis allowed him to use her personal cellphone to call my Mom. Kristy did not rush my Dad. In fact, when Kristy overheard my Mom say she needed to end the call to return the phone, Kristy insisted he talk as long as he wished. As it turned out, this was the last coherent conversation my parents ever had. My family will never forget Kristy’s act of patience and kindness.
