Kristy is one, "Cool & Caring Cookie". Over the last several years, Kristy has been observed with skill and compassion, triaging children with boo-boos and then without hesitation jumping onto a gurney and to give chest compressions trying to save someone's life.
One such incident occurred several months ago when an unconscious 19-year-old was brought to the ER via a private vehicle in the middle of the night. Kristy assisted in extricating the young lady from the passenger's seat, onto the gurney and without hesitation she climbed onto the gurney and began immediate CPR/chest compressions as staff rushed them to a room. This was a tragic event for all involved and in addition to her providing this patient medical care, she also recognized how this event had affected the rest of her team. She offered support and caring for her peers and went above and beyond to make sure they received it.
The team member said, "Kristy is, in my opinion, the epitome of what a nurse should be. I'm extremely proud to say that I work alongside Nurse Kristy Queen."
