I was being seen for bladder cancer. When I first had my surgery I could not get all the necessary dressings I needed for my wound. The teaching I had received at the beginning was not helping me succeed at all and I was concerned I would not get back to my normal quality of life. I was so frustrated. I was then referred to the wound/ostomy nurse which turned my life around. Kristyn's knowledge and teaching capabilities are why I am here today. She taught me how to take care of myself including management of my ostomy. I just needed someone with that sort of knowledge, patience, and caring as this nurse. She really touched my life. To this day, I tell everyone what a great nurse she is and recommend this hospital for wound/ostomy care.
