Krisztina provided care for me on 4 days of the 7 days I was on the ward. She showed kindness and compassion every day I saw her face. Any questions I had were always listened to with considerate responses. I was a particular fan of Krisztina's straight-talking communication style, which was open and honest. I was on the receiving end of a couple of tellings off for being a ''stubborn young man'' (my words!) but in the nicest way possible! Well, they were not really tellings off, but simple things like telling me to sit when I insisted on standing at the x-ray, or adjusting my bed to stop me slouching after surgery so I could breathe easier. For me, these examples just show how much of a caring person Krisztina is. I also found Krisztina to be a very proactive nurse, who clearly possesses a lot of common sense.
What sticks in my mind is her proactive management of the various medications I was taking which was able to be reduced as the week went on through a collaborative approach between Krisztina, the doctors and myself. I felt the great proactive nursing of Krisztina helped facilitate this. I am sure Krisztina demonstrates all the values and behaviours the NUH Trust expects and she is a fantastic example of the brilliant work done every day in the NHS. She is a true DAISY Nurse.
