February 2026 Honoree
Kritika Girard, RN, BSN
Kritika helped deliver my baby girl. She truly made my delivery everything I wanted it to be. I have told everyone who has asked how wonderful and supportive she was, and I think everyone deserves a nurse as good as her. Kritika’s support helped me get through the toughest stage of labor. When I wanted to quit at 8cm and get an epidural, she was 100% backing my decision, but also made sure I remembered that if I wanted to go unblocked, she would get me there. We screamed and yelled, and then we had a baby, and all was forgiven.
Kritika did the unthinkable and called me at 2 months postpartum and checked to see how I was doing and how breastfeeding was going, which speaks volumes to me. Her phone call and genuine concern for how we were doing were felt through the phone, and confirmed I wasn’t just another patient that day. She also inspired me to want to be an IBCLC. This was my second baby, and I truly enjoyed breastfeeding with my first, but my friends also had babies around the same time as me, and as I helped them through their journey, I always thought about Kritika and how much of an impact she made on me.
