A physician came up to me this evening to let me know about Krysta Cooper, RN. He said she was phenomenal notifying physicians regarding a critical life-saving measure for a patient on 2 South. He stated if she did not catch the patients signs or symptoms at the time she did, the patient would not have made it.
Krysta was persistent in contacting the hospitalist and surgery to notify of her assessment. CT was done and revealed patient needed emergency surgery. Krysta was not only professional in the situation with the physicians but she also went above and beyond with the patient by keeping them calm and informed.
