Lupe’s and Krystal’s professionalism, high standards of care, and compassion allowed the family to let go of their loved one in a supportive and understanding environment that would have been difficult otherwise.
Lupe and Krystal took care of a patient who had an extremely difficult and complicated end-of-life situation with one of our patients. The situation was so complex in nature that it involved multiple care teams the palliative care team, the neurosurgical ICU team, the Ethics team, legal services, patient relations, and nursing management from the neurosurgical ICU. The dynamics were extremely stressful and presented one of the most difficult assignments our nursing staff has dealt with in recent times.

Lupe’s and Krystal’s professionalism, high standards of care, and compassion allowed the family to let go of their loved one in a supportive and understanding environment that would have been difficult otherwise. (It is hard to explain all the details in a simple email), but the care they provided was the best and should be a standard for others to follow.
