October 2014 Honoree
krystle oliver, RN
Crystal recently had a patient on the 4th floor who was battling a terminal illness and there were many foods he would not eat. Krystle talked with patient about the importance of nutrition in the healing process and they came to an agreement: V8 juice. It was not available at the hospital, so after her 12 hour shift, she went to a nearby store to purchase it and delivered it back to the unit before going home. The patient died before Krystle worked her next shift but she truly made a connection with him.
Thank you, Krystle, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
