Nurse Kyla was an exceptional support. She was always very happy and someone you could tell truly loves what she does.
I was admitted to Swedish First Hill for a kidney transplant. I was helped by Nurse Kyla during the day shift for most of my stay, from Friday until Sunday evening, and I was discharged from the hospital two weeks later. From the moment I was moved to my room after my surgery until I left, Nurse Kyla was an exceptional support. She was always very happy and someone you could tell truly loves what she does. She seemed to see her work as a passion versus just a job and was always very present and happy to help, no matter what the request was. A big thing that I noted was that even though I was not her only patient on the floor, you would never have known that. She treated me as if I was her only patient, never making me think I was being a burden or just another patient she had to take care of. I also noted this when I was up and walking around the ward. When I passed another patient's room, I could sometimes hear Nurse Kyla helping another person, and she had the same demeanor and pleasant attitude, as she had with me. And she again, sounded like she was just treating that one patient and no one else. I always felt safe and in good hands with Nurse Kyla.
She was prompt to help when I needed it, and never once made me feel uncomfortable or like I was taking up too much of her time. Nurse Kyla just stood out as being so amazing in her overall demeanor with her patients. I will note that she was also very good with my wife, who was with me every day until I checked out of the hospital. Nurse Kyla always asked her if she needed anything as well, which just seemed to go above and beyond. I felt it very important to acknowledge Nurse Kyla, and how wonderful an asset she is to your team and your hospital. She exemplifies the kind of health care worker one would love to have, when in hospital, and was one of the best nurses I have ever been around.
