I came into Tripler with stomach issues related to alcohol abuse. From the get-go, Kyle was supportive, caring, and non-judgmental. He spoke to me with caring in his voice. Caring that came from his heart. He truly wanted to know. At night, he sat at my bedside, and we talked. We talked about family, hopes, and dreams. In the morning, we spoke about different religions, and he gave me some great suggestions for books.
He taught me how not to sweat the small stuff and that "this too shall pass." He emphasized that I don't want to die an alcoholic death.” It's the worst type of death he has seen. Just having him take time out of the night and day to sit and talk to me like an old friend helped to heal me more than any medicine.
Tripler - you have an angel in this nurse. I'm forever grateful for him.
P/S: On my last day, we celebrated that my sodium level was back on track!
