The nurse was incredibly compassionate with my son, who has Down syndrome and was critically ill on ECMO. My son's father and I were extremely stressed, but the nurse constantly reassured us. One day, when my son had internal bleeding, the nurse skipped his breaks to ensure he was stable. Even while attending to other patients in the ward, the nurse would stop by multiple times during his shift to play with and talk to my son. He would also assist whoever was caring for my son with tasks like changing and bathing, always offering help without being asked.
