We were honored to get to know him and be under his care. We truly believe he is an amazing nurse because he does it with his whole heart.
My daughter was inpatient for 7 weeks after her 14-hour double bypass surgery. She is 7 months old and was in the best possible care in the CVICU. Someone who made her stay that much better was Kyle. He met her on one of the scariest days of her life.
While recovering from her surgery, she had seizures and a stroke. Kyle paid such close attention to her and realized that she was having seizure-like activity and acted on it right away. It was the most subtle thing, but he noticed because of his amazing attention to detail. After he took care of her for three days, he requested to come in on his off weekend to help her get better. He took time out of his life to care for her since he knew her so well and believed that he could help her progress in the right direction.
He pays great attention to detail, teaches with humility, and loves his patients like they are his own. We came in one morning, and he had her all dolled up in a bow and cute blankets. It's moments like these that help things feel normal with our baby and not like she was in the ICU for weeks. He kept up with the research his team was doing and helped to get her held daily because it helps with healing. He made it a priority.
We were honored to get to know him and be under his care. We truly believe he is an amazing nurse because he does it with his whole heart. He became almost like family to us. Our daughter is healthy and thriving now because of Kyle. We will forever tell our baby girl about her nurse Kyle, how he was the one who believed in her and helped her succeed.
