January 2020 Honoree
kyle green, RN
A patient came to our facility from another hospital intubated and not expected to live. She rallied and was alert and oriented for a period of time. Several days later her condition declined and it became obvious that she was dying and the family made the decision not to resuscitate. As her condition continued to worsen and her death appeared imminent, Kyle realized that no family was able to be present. He refused to let her die alone. Even though he could have left for the day, he sat at her bedside and held her hand until she died peacefully. This is true compassion and great nursing!
Thank you, Kyle, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
