... My husband had surgery at GMC for a brain tumor. After coming home, Kyle was his visiting nurse. Two weeks after coming home, Kyle was there making a visit, when my husband died unexpectedly. Kyle jumped into action, performed CPR, and kept performing CPR until the medics arrived. Kyle was aware that my husband had doctor appointments that day, and she called and cancelled all of them for me. She stayed with me longer than she had to that day, without a second thought, to comfort me. Kyle went above and beyond her duties that day. As a co-worker of Kyle's, I knew she was a great nurse, but after seeing the compassion and care she demonstrated with my husband, and then me, there is no doubt that she is an extraordinary and compassionate nurse and deserves this award.
